Sandra Brady
Biography
Sandra’s love of art became evident early in her life. As a young girl, she attended classes at the Toledo Museum of Art.
By 1976, she began pursuing the art of scrimshaw while working for a local company that marketed hand-made jewelry.
Shortly after that, she and a friend started their own company and exhibited their work at many local arts and crafts shows.
She attended the University of Toledo, where she majored in Fine Art. This additional study allowed her to define a style of scrimshaw that was uniquely hers. A master in her own right, her style continues to change and evolve.
Her work has been exhibited at the South Carolina State Museum. She can also be found in Modern Scrimshaw by Eva Halat, The Complete Art of Scrimshaw by Jim Stevens, The Art of the Knife by Joe Kertzman, and various other publications.
A scrimshaw class under Sandra is amazing, very complete and highly enjoyable. Her techniques are understandable, efficient and fresh with a strong foundation from traditional scrimshaw. Join one of her classes and see for yourself.
