Jeremiah Watt
Biography
Jeremiah was born in Ontario, Canada. From an early age, he discovered his love for horses, the gear used, and the artistry involved with this trade.
Naturally adept at working with his hands, he began to practice the art of saddle making by attending a school in Amarillo, Texas. After school, he spent the next seven and a half years back in Calgary, Canada, as a saddle maker’s apprentice.
He soon began to teach himself the art of engraving on the bits and spurs he created by hand to go along with his saddle trade. When he completed his training, he and his wife started their own saddle and tack manufacturing business. It was at this time he began to make his own stainless steel hardware using the lost wax casing method.
He has been teaching western engraving for 12 years along with the art of saddle making. His videotape series on cowboy engraving, silversmithing, and bit and spur making, Western-Style Handwork, is a respected resource in the field of western art. He attends a number of major trade shows each year.
