Basic Repoussé
Ornamental Chasing and Repoussé MetalworkCourse Description
The ancient techniques of chasing and repoussé are experiencing a rebirth among silversmiths, jewelry designers, creative metalworkers, and collectors.
This course offers a limited and rare opportunity to study under Valentin Yotkov, a world-renown master of classic metal arts.
Each student will start by learning basic skills of ornamental chasing and repoussé. As the week progresses, more advanced techniques will be demonstrated and taught.
A special part of the curriculum is making tools, since many important tools are not generally available. Previous experience is helpful, but not required.
This opportunity is rare; interested people are strongly urged to enroll while Valentin is still actively teaching.
