This course transitions the attendee from their existing basic stone setting skills to more challenging and valuable mountings.
Today’s jewelers must handle stones and settings that vary widely in size, shape, physical properties, style of mounting and complexity.
This course includes efficient approaches to setting, ways to improve quality and creative problem solving at the bench.
Each student will use a microscope and GRS power tools for superior stone setting results with less fatigue.

- Theory and practice of tool sharpening
- Effective graver shaping and preparation
- Tips, tricks and secrets that boost setting proficiency
- Prong setting fancies: Pear, Marquise, Emerald, Baguette and Princess cuts
- Cluster, Flush, Bezel, Gypsy, Channel, Bead and Bright Cut settings
- Final class project
