What is the GRS Training Center?
The Training Center is a learning facility equipped specifically for engravers, stone setters, wood carvers, and similar artists.
What are the classrooms like?Each classroom is equipped with high-quality tools and benches for twelve students and the instructor. Want to see what the classroom looks like? Go to the GRSTC Facility.
Where is GRSTC located?GRSTC is located in Emporia, Kansas in the United States of America. Kansas is centrally located in the U.S. For maps and location information, visit the Travel Guide.
Who teaches the courses?The instructors who teach courses for GRSTC are working professionals who are the best in the business. Get to know our instructors, here and abroad.
What are the courses like?These courses are accelerated and fast-paced. But don't let that scare you – the instructors take great care in making sure everyone is learning the material.
Discuss your expectations with a representative. They will help you choose the right course for your skill level. Past students are also helpful in choosing a course.
How long is each course?Each class is a 5 day, 40 hour course.
What time does class start?Arrive at 7:50 AM on Monday. Class is from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM everyday, with a lunch break from 12:00 – 1:00 PM.
Can I stay to engrave / practice after class?An optional after-hours study time is available for the entire class two days during the week.
How many students are in each class?Most classes are limited to 12 students. However, some advanced courses such as Bulino are limited to 8.
How can I get in a class?To enroll, you must contact a representative at 1-800-835-3519. Our friendly staff can provide you with additional information and advice on which course to take based on your background and skill level.
Most classes are on a "first-come, first-served" basis, although some may require previous experience and instructor approval. If you find a course that fits your schedule and budget, do not hesitate to enroll. With limited seating, classes fill up quickly.
Can I cancel or change my reservation?Yes. However, please take note of the following information concerning reservations, rescheduling, and cancellations:
Your seat is reserved after your course deposit is received. If you want to move your reservation to another course or cancel, your deposit, less $50, will be transferred or refunded by notifying GRS more than 30 days before the scheduled course begins. Less than 30 days before the course start date, deposits are non-transferrable and non-refundable.

Why should I take a class with GRS?With over 15 years experience, GRS knows the best way for you to learn is by actually DOING. With qualified instructors to guide and critique you along the way, you will learn faster than ever.
Trying to learn these skills on your own takes a lot longer, even with the increasing number of books, videos, and other materials available. Although these materials are helpful, focused learning time really makes a difference. Limited class size means personalized instruction for each student.
